Niykee who's had many a hectic few years which included being chosen by Snoop to sing with Snoop at the YouTube Brandcast May 2013 Niykee maintains a consistent songwriting schedule despite this. Now a magnet for up-and-coming artists, she is constantly looking over beats she receives and realizes that most result in sparking ideas for songs. It's easy to tell when a beat's good after the first five seconds and then I'll be able to get a tune in my head, and I'll start writing immediately she says. I go out to my backyard with my guitar and lyrics appear and it's usually all done in under thirty minutes. Niykee's pain from her past can be a constant source of inspiration as she develops as a writer. She says that even when she's not writing about events that have actually happened every ache from childhood and loss of her sister finds it's way into her music. This influences my music and builds this deeper understanding behind all things that's one the most important things that I value. It is important to me to realize that I'll be able to listen to any of my music 20 years from now and still feel proud of the things I wrote.
